RANT | Bruce Jenner

Alright. I like to keep my posts far away from celebrities, but this really got to me and I had to say something. Here goes. I watched the Diane Sawyer interview with Bruce Jenner because I honestly wasn't sure if all of the gossip, rumours and tabloids were just being their regular asshole selves, or if the speculation was true.

Of course, after the first few moments it becomes very clear that it is true. Bruce Jenner has identified himself as transexual and will be taking steps towards becoming a woman in the near future.

I wasn't compelled to write this yesterday because after watching the interview, I didn't see how anyone could understand this in any other way other than being a positive thing for society, for our generation and most importantly: for the trans community. But of course (and I think you all know me by now), I read an article (that I liked) and saw that every single comment underneath it was negative. Most people were angry because of the way Bruce's story was being compared to historical events in history, and how in the grand scheme of things, these commenters didn't think he was making a difference at all.

Earth Day!

Hello! Today is April 22nd, which means it's ~EARTH DAY~ (insert two thousand earth emoji's).

It's no secret that our earth is in a dire state of affairs. As inhabitants of this fine planet, it's our job to leave it as close to how we found it as possible. Of course, there's going to be the extra sky scraper or parking lot.. But we need to start replenishing the green. After all, it didn't start off as a concrete jungle.

SO. What can we do to start on the path to a happy, healthy earth? Glad you asked.

Eco-Friendly Beauty Products

Hello! It's April (aka Earth Month), which means EARTH DAY is around the corner! Earth Hour just passed (on March 28th) and we hope you all participated! With Earth Day coming up, we wanted to bring you some eco-friendly fashion and beauty products!

Making sure the earth and - everything that inhabits it - is happy and healthy should be a top priority for all of us! and while that might not be a TOTALLY plausible scenario in today's day and age (even though, it really is - renewable resources anyone?), we have to do everything we can to make sure we get as close to that as possible!

First on our list is nail polish from Lacc (La Couleur Couture).

Toxic-free, cruelty-free and vegan friendly, each bottle of luxury nail lacquer includes a UV inhibitor to protect against the yellowing/brittleness of nails. This luxurious and highly-pigmented lacquer collection is safe for children, pregnant women and even cancer patients! Our personal picks from the line were the beige, mint, baby pink, and orange! We thought they were perfect for spring! The entire line can be found below.Check out their NEW S/S'15 shades, found at 750+ Shoppers Drug Mart locations, $12.99 each.

Next up, are these super cute bracelets from ALEX AND ANI!

The eco-consious jewelry company is passionate about the well-being of our planet and the materials used are sustainable, derived from eco-conscious processes. Each bangle has a unique meaning so you can tailor the arm candy to your personality. We tried to choose our personal fave charms, but all of them are so adorable! Check out ALEX AND ANI's NEW Pursuit of Persephone collection being released April 20th at select Hudson's Bay locations, $42 each.

Looking cute AND being conscious about our dear Mother Earth? There is literally NOTHING better than this. Make sure you go out and grab some Lacc nail polish, a few ALEX AND ANI bangles, and then plant a tree or clean up your local community park! On second thought - you might want to do your nails AFTER the gritty work!

Stay cute, and environmentally aware!

FASHION FIX | Streetsville Chic

I really wanted to do some shoots when I got back to Canada - this is one of my favourite areas of the city I grew up in. It's called Streetsville in Mississauga, it's so lovely and one of the oldest parts of Mississaugaa with cute shops and dainty cafés. It's a must-see if you're ever in this neck of the woods! Hope you enjoy this post :)

Travel | Hamburg!

Hey dolls! A couple weeks ago when I was in London, I decided to take a day trip to Hamburg, Germany to see some German agencies. It was a super short flight, about 2 hours! I didn't get to see too much because I was only in the actual city for about 8 hours - but what I did see was lovely and so I thought I'd share it with you all.

Hamburg is a beautiful city with lots of water, which makes it really tranquil. It's quite a calm city, definitely not as busy as London so I wasn't used to being so relaxed in between castings! Unfortunately I didn't get to see much, but most of the agencies I saw were right in the centre so I did get a good feel of the city.

One thing I love about Hamburg is how environmentally-friendly the city is. It's so clean, there's literally not one piece of paper or any type of litter on the ground. Not only that, people ride bikes everywhere. There are bike lanes everywhere and there seems to b an ease of communication between the bikers and cars, which is something a lot of countries struggle with.

Hamburg also has lots of beautiful old buildings. I didn't take too many pictures because I was also VLOGGING - yes that's right I'm bringin' it back! So, soon you'll see a proper blog up and I'll link it here when it's all done. For now though here are some of the pictures I did take:

Didn't I tell you there was beautiful water and bikes everywhere?! There really is. It's such an awesome atmosphere to be around. Very calm, cool and collected.
