New Fall Shows

Hi loves!

Have I ever mentioned that school is super annoying? Well it is. It's also a tad stressful and tiring at times. One way I like to unwind after a long day of classes and assignments is catching up on my favourite shows. Some new shows started this fall and I decided to give them a try so I can have some new story lines to fill my otherwise boring week. Explaining the concepts of shows is a lot easier to do in person, so try to follow along and I'll try my best to be clear, concise and to make sense.

REIGN
Set in the 1500s, "Reign" follows the life of Mary, the soon to be Queen of Scotland. To form an alliance between Scotland and France, Mary and Francis, the Prince of France, have been arranged to get married. Mary is then sent to France, with her friends as company, but things soon start to get complicated. There are people who don't want her to be married to Francis, and even those who want to harm her. During these hard times, she finds herself attracted to the half-brother of her soon to be husband, who also seems to return her feelings. The Queen of France is overlooking everything, trying to get her way and there is an unknown presence in the castle working against her. With death threats, sabotage, mistresses, seers and strange allies, the castle is becoming stranger each day. In addition to everything happening with the Royals in the castle, there's something strange and possibly magical going on in the forest behind the castle, making things even more interesting for the citizens of the kingdom.

It didn't bring in a lot of views for the season premiere but it seems interesting enough for me to continue watching and hopefully it keeps my interest. "Royals" by Lorde has been playing in the commercials for this series all summer and now it is forever stuck in my head. We did a Music Monday on it; you should check it out :)

THE ORIGINALS
A spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries", follows the life of the oldest vampires, also known as the Original Family. Klaus, the original hybrid (half vampire, half werewolf), gets word of a plot against him and finds himself in his former town of New Orleans. His return has his original vampire siblings, Rebekah and Elijah, following him out of curiosity. While there, they realize Klaus' former protege, Marcel, has taken over the city and has control over everyone in town. Not being able to take orders from a boy he used to mentor, Klaus plans to reclaim his power and control over the city that was once his. While all this is going on, it is discovered that Hayley, a werewolf, is carrying Klaus' child. This child is special because it will be the first hybrid to be born and it is believed that this child may be the key to Marcel's demise. Forming an alliance with the witches, headed by Sophie, they plan to remove Marcel from power so that the originals can regain control and the witches can have their freedom back. A hostile takeover is on its way and Klaus won't stop until the town is under his control.

These two shows haven't been on for long so you'll only have a few episodes to catch up on. Reign and The Originals both air on the CW. Check your local listings for specific days and times. If you happen to like The Originals, I would suggest starting The Vampire Diaries, if you haven't already. The Vampire Diaries just started their 5th season so you have four seasons to catch up on but I promise, it is worth it (season 3 in particular is just beyond words, amazing). Let us know if you guys start watching either show or tell us what other shows you guys are into!
